Summer ‘Circus’ Party

We had a fantastic summer garden party with a circus theme, full of laughter and guests in fun outfits. The day featured interactive games, singing, and dancing, with everyone winning prizes. A highlight was the lively ‘Birdie Dance’ performance. After the activities, we enjoyed a delicious BBQ while listening to classic 60s and 70s songs. We also aimed to raise funds for Age Well East, an organisation doing great work in the community, and all proceeds went to them. It was wonderful to have Kaye, Lucy, and Nick from Age Well East join in the fun!

Gosbecks Primary School

Many thanks to Gosbecks School for collaborating with us on beautiful miniature gardens. After brainstorming with the pupils, we brought their designs to life, which were then donated to St. Stephen’s Church for the New Town Open Gardens weekend. The pupils also showcased their impressive work on the Great Fire of London, sharing art and poems with great confidence. We wish them a delightful summer holiday and look forward to their return in September.

Strawberry Sandwich

In our quest for the elusive ‘M&S strawberry sandwich’, known for its high demand, we decided to not only recreate it but also hold a blind tasting challenge to see if we could distinguish between the original and our homemade version. We whipped up a mixture of cream cheese and crème fraiche, spread it on sweet brioche, and layered it in fresh strawberries. After cutting both the M&S sandwich and our version out of sight, we conducted the tasting. Interestingly, many participants believed our homemade version was the store-bought one!
