Harvest Celebration

We created beautifully decorated gift bags filled with an assortment of treats perfect for enjoying a warm drink as the weather starts to cool down.  These included a selection of teas, coffees, hot chocolates, and a variety of delightful biscuits and cakes. We were pleased to donate these bags to the local community, including the Community 360 organisation and the Mersea Community Centre.  It was lovely to be visited by Community 360, who gave us an informative talk as well as taking the gift bags for distribution

Reminiscence Afternoon

We were lucky to have some intriguing artefacts from the past that sparked engaging discussions. Nostalgia often brings forth a mix of individual and collective memories, creating a sense of connection as people realise they are not alone in their experiences. For instance, the ‘football rattle clacker,’ originally designed as a warning device, later became a fixture at football matches.  Other memorable items included a hurricane lamp and a flat iron.  Additionally, we reminisced about the days of purchasing petrol in two-gallon cans.

St Helenas

We spent a lovely morning there, starting with a visit to the coffee shop, which boasts an enticing array of cakes, scones, and biscuits. With so many tempting options, it was tough to choose, but we finally settled on a Clementine, Cherry Bakewell and Biscoff Cake, which were nothing short of delicious.  We want to thank Kirsty for all her help, kindness and for making us feel so welcome.  Special thanks also to Wendy and Kim, who spent time with us.  Thank you once again to the whole team for such a delightful experience!  St Helen’s Hospice is an incredible organisation that supports so many people.
